About The Chiswick Calendar
The Chiswick Calendar is a celebration of life in Chiswick. The website showcases the work of local photographers with a different picture of Chiswick on the home page every day. You can look to see what’s on in our daily listings pages or search by subject if you’re looking for things to do with children, free, outdoors, live performances etc. This Is Chiswick and Chiswick Borders highlight some of the people, places and societies which make this part of west London such an interesting place to live.
The Chiswick Calendar is a Community Interest Company, which means that we have been recognised by Companies House as a community resource. Any profit we make has to go back in the pot for the benefit of the community.
We put on our own events, which have included current affairs debates with the main candidates in recent General Elections, discussions on Business Rates, Brexit and the Cycle Superhighway CS9 proposal, but also Cheese & Wine tasting, a talk on the history of gin distilling in this area, discussions with local authors, An Evening with Wayne Sleep at the Tabard theatre and the Chiswick In Pictures art and photography exhibition at the Clayton Hotel Chiswick.
We also run monthly Jazz at George IV nights in collaboration with jazz promoter Larry Pryce of Live Music To Go, on the last Thursday of every month in the Boston Room at George IV in Chiswick High Rd.
We also host a Media Club in the Wellesley Room of the Pilot pub in Wellesley Rd. Open to all, journalists and non-journalists alike; anyone who likes getting stuck in to current affairs debates. Chaired by experienced journalists, the interviewee or panel of experts explore the issues which face journalists in reporting the news. Read about the latest event with Gina Miller, here
Fancy a free tour of Sipsmith’s distillery or Fuller’s brewery? Discount on meals in Chiswick restaurants or on goods and services? We operate a Club Card scheme which enables local businesses to offer deals and discounts to local residents. Subscribe to our weekly newsletter and you will be entitled to a free Club Card.
We make videos about things of interest happening in Chiswick, but also for your website if you would like us to. Find out more about our videos.
